Fashion 156

Was gonna blog about this online magazine which I found out about 2 months ago but unfortunately it was too late, a local fashion blog had already blogged about it. The suite chic only has herself to blame - its been work work work like crazy ever since coming back from her one-month hiatus down-under.

Anywho, i'm just gonna let it all out. So what's this fashion 156 again? Its an online (read: free!!!) fashion magazine that is published every 156 hours. Let's see, thats a little less than 7 days, so you can say its (almost) a weekly mag. Cool reads in this one, with a column by Susie Bubble, author of Style Bubble.

Something Up Your Sleeve

The suite chic went for a compulsory retail therapy session this past week and found that of the three dresses she bought, all had something in common: puffed sleeves.

The suite chic loves the three-quarter sleeve as it never fails to visually slims the arms and cover up the flab on our arms. Now, why shouldn't we all be jumping onto the sleeve bandwagon?

Let the suite chic convince you with some of her picks...and try to rein yourselves in.

Great dresses from Ms Furstenberg
- Polka Dotted Wrap Dress with sweetheart neckline. Ooze saccharine charm in this one. Or go for the ribbon print monochrome dress with sweetheart neckline, and yes, puffed sleeves.

Glow in pink in this Alice Temperley number.

Make like you're going trekking in this cute jungle-green eyelet dress from Tracy Reese.

Be dainty in pastel, Matthew Williamson-style:

That's all for now. Will give you a little peek into what's in my closet soon. Till then, go three-quarter sleeves. Trust me on this one.

Designer Spy

This week, the Suite Chic picks her favourites from the oh-so-wearable designs of New York fashion designer, Cynthia Steffe.

Inspired by French sirens, Catherine Denueve and Bridgette Bardot, Steffe's collection was coquettish and playful. Above the knee dresses were sent down the runway in navy and black shades as well as the ultimate summer frock in bright blue.

The dress- over- skinny pants theme was also featured on the runway, with the navy and black combination somewhat refreshing. This look is set to pop up all over town, just as leggings have been the du rigour lately.
